Listeria Outbreak 2024 Production.  — on july 26, boar's head announced it was recalling 207,528 pounds of deli meat linked to an outbreak of listeria that had killed two people and affected 34 across. The company recalled 7 million pounds of meat products, but the cdc said this week that it has learned of more illnesses and fatalities.

Since the last update on august 8, 2024, 14 more illnesses have been reported bringing the total to 57.  — epidemiologic and laboratory data now show that meats sliced at deli counters, including boar’s head brand liverwurst, are contaminated with listeria and are making people sick.
